Lufthansa Group has announced the appointment of Lorenza Maggio as the new chief executive of Brussels Airlines, succeeding Dorothea von Boxberg, who will step down in August. Maggio, currently a board member of ITA Airways, has been instrumental in overseeing
the integration of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group. Her appointment is pending approval by SN Airholding’s board. Von Boxberg, who took over as CEO of Brussels Airlines in April 2023, is leaving the company at her own request. Maggio's start date is yet to be determined. Lufthansa Group's chief commercial officer, Dieter Vrancx, praised Maggio's extensive experience and leadership skills, highlighting her previous roles, including vice-president sales for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Lufthansa Group and managing director of LSG Group.
