What's Happening?
The Houston Texans are actively participating in the NFL FLAG Championships taking place at the Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana. Nine teams from Texas and the Southeast region are competing under the Texans banner, including the Texas Fury,
the defending NFL FLAG High School Girls Division Champions. The Texans, in collaboration with Ticketmaster, have provided each team with a $1,000 travel stipend and custom arm sleeves to support their participation. This event is part of a broader initiative by the Texans to promote flag football, particularly for high school girls, with the aim of having it sanctioned as a varsity sport by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The NFL is also working with TMRW Sports to establish a professional flag football league, which is expected to launch before the sport's debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
