Comcast has begun rolling out 'WiFi Motion,' a new feature that transforms compatible Xfinity WiFi routers into basic home security systems. This technology allows XB7 gateways and newer models to detect movement within a home without requiring additional
cameras or separate motion sensors. The feature, part of Comcast's new Xfinity Shield service, is available at no extra cost through an update to the Xfinity Internet app. WiFi Motion operates by identifying changes in wireless signals traveling between the gateway and connected devices, indicating activity.
