What's Happening?
The National Football League (NFL) is set to host the NFL Flag Africa Continental Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 9-11, 2026. This event will feature national teams and youth squads from five African nations: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, and South
Africa. The competition includes both men's and women's national teams, as well as U13 co-ed youth teams. This initiative is part of the NFL's efforts to promote flag football, a fast-growing sport that will debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The event is organized in collaboration with the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and the Kenyan Federation of American Football (KFAF). In addition to the competition, an elite talent identification workout will be held, providing athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills to NFL representatives.
