New Zealand-based Neocrete has successfully raised $3.5 million in an early-stage venture capital round. The funding, led by returning investor Wavemaker Ventures and supported by Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health (C3H), is earmarked for the expansion
of Neocrete's concrete decarbonization technology. Founded in 2018, Neocrete specializes in producing additives that enable the replacement of 30% to 50% of cement in concrete with low-quality materials like poor fly ash and volcanic ash. The company asserts that its technology not only reduces carbon emissions and costs but also maintains the strength, durability, and workability of the concrete. This investment will facilitate Neocrete's entry into the European and U.S. markets, building on its existing deployments in Southeast Asia, where Readymix Brunei is already utilizing the additives.
