Jacobs has been reappointed to National Grid’s Asset Health Intervention Programme, expanding its role to include the Southeast and Southwest regions in addition to the Central region. This five-year program, valued at over $13 million (£10 million),
focuses on modernizing and ensuring the resilience of the U.K.'s transmission network. Jacobs will provide multidisciplinary detailed design, design assurance, and construction support for the replacement and refurbishment of over 800 transmission assets across the U.K. The initiative aims to meet the increasing reliance on electricity and support the U.K.'s progression towards net-zero emissions. The work includes upgrading aging substation assets using standardized solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain a robust electricity network as demand grows.
