The Hutchinson Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps made a notable return to the national stage at the Drum Corps International (DCI) regional competition in San Antonio, Texas. The performance, titled 'What was already there,' expanded on the backstory of
a beloved character from 'The Wizard of Oz.' The creative team included Dr. William Woodworth, Director of Athletic Bands at Emporia State University (ESU), who served as the drill designer. The production featured ESU students, including sophomore Gabe Johnson, who played the role of the Tinman. The event was a collaborative effort involving high school and college students from across the region.
