Panamint Capital has initiated a $1.7 billion solar project named Big Rooter Power at the Twin Oaks power station in Robertson County, Texas. This project is notable for being the largest solar installation at an active coal mining site in North America.
The development involves the installation of approximately two million solar panels and the use of over 34,000 tons of American steel. Despite the solar expansion, the 310-megawatt lignite plant at Twin Oaks remains operational with no announced retirement date.
