PiLogic, a Los Angeles-based space technology company, has partnered with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to develop AI-based anomaly detection technology for satellites. Under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), PiLogic is
testing its AI systems on terrestrial-based flat satellites with the aim of expanding this technology to orbit. The collaboration provides PiLogic with access to AFRL's testing facilities and the opportunity to demonstrate its technology to military and commercial clients. The AI system is designed to detect satellite failures caused by internal faults, electronic warfare, cyber attacks, or space weather, and can autonomously respond to critical issues.
