What's Happening?
KIWAME TOKYO ASAKUSA has introduced a new watch collection named KUBO, which features a small-seconds display powered by the Japan-made Miyota Caliber 82S5 automatic movement. The collection is designed for regular use, offering a 42-hour power reserve
and water resistance up to 30 meters. The KUBO watches are priced at $630 and come with an Italian genuine calf leather strap. The dial of each watch is finished with multiple layers of lacquer, providing a glossy depth that changes with lighting conditions. The collection includes three dial variations: USUKI, TETSUKON, and SAKURA, each inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics.
Why It's Important?
The launch of the KUBO collection highlights the continued influence of Japanese craftsmanship in the global watch industry. By utilizing the Miyota Caliber 82S5 movement, KIWAME TOKYO ASAKUSA ensures reliability and accessibility, appealing to consumers seeking quality and tradition in watchmaking. This move also reflects a broader trend of integrating cultural elements into modern products, enhancing their appeal in international markets. The collection's design and pricing strategy position it as a competitive option in the mid-range watch market, potentially attracting a diverse customer base interested in both functionality and aesthetic value.
