What's Happening?
Middle Island Resources (ASX:MDI) has identified large-scale copper targets at its Priboj Project in central-western Serbia. Infill soil sampling at the Jelaca and Oglavak prospects has confirmed broad copper anomalies. The company collected 192 soil samples
across these two prospects, revealing core anomalies exceeding 200 parts per million (ppm) copper. At Jelaca, the anomaly spans 900 meters by up to 400 meters, with assays reaching 862 ppm copper. The Oglavak target extends 600 meters by up to 400 meters, yielding peak values of 1,614 ppm copper. Rock chip sampling at Jelaca also returned assays up to 3.21% copper and 26 grams per tonne silver from altered and weathered copper mineralized basalt, expanding the known outcropping copper mineralized footprint. Executive Chairman Daniel Raihani stated that these results support the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-style copper exploration model and reinforce the potential of the broader license area.
