What's Happening?
The founders of the Gorge Amphitheatre are planning to build two new cultural venues in Grant County, Washington. The Hilltop, a nonprofit organization founded by Vince and Carol Bryan, has partnered with ZGF Architects to design 'The Grotto,' a 1,200-seat
indoor performance venue. Additionally, 'The Terraces,' a 2,000-seat outdoor venue, is planned to overlook the Columbia River Gorge. These venues aim to create a cultural campus that serves as a global stage for the arts and sciences. The Hilltop is also organizing its inaugural fundraising event, the SOAR Festival 2026, featuring performances by notable artists.
Why It's Important?
The development of these new venues represents a significant investment in the cultural and artistic landscape of the Pacific Northwest. By providing spaces for diverse performances and events, the project is expected to enhance the region's cultural offerings and attract visitors, boosting local tourism and the economy. The initiative also reflects a growing trend of integrating arts and community development, fostering cultural engagement and education. The involvement of renowned architects and artists underscores the project's potential to become a landmark destination.
