The Atterbury, Autograph Collection, has officially opened in downtown Pittsburgh following a comprehensive multi-million-dollar restoration of the historic Fulton Building. Originally constructed in 1906 by architect Grosvenor Atterbury for Henry Phipps,
the building has been transformed into a 300-room hotel by RLJ Lodging Trust. The hotel is now part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection and is strategically located near Market Square, the Allegheny Riverfront, PNC Park, and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Atterbury offers a range of accommodations, including a Presidential Suite, with some rooms providing views of the Allegheny River and PNC Park. The design, led by Christine Shanahan of HVS Design, preserves the building’s architectural features while incorporating elements inspired by Pittsburgh’s cultural and industrial history. The hotel also features an integrated art program with works by local artists, reflecting the city’s steel and riverfront heritage.
