Montage Gold has announced a significant increase in resource estimates at its Koné Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire. The satellite deposits now host 1.7 million ounces of gold in indicated resources and
0.8 million ounces in inferred resources, marking a substantial rise from previous figures. The overall measured and indicated resources have increased to 6.29 million ounces, with a 27% grade improvement. The company has completed extensive drilling, delineating 12 deposits, and plans to continue exploration with a 90,000m drilling program. First gold pour is expected in late Q4 2026.
Why It's Important?
The updated resource estimates enhance the economic viability of the Koné Gold Project, potentially increasing its attractiveness to investors and stakeholders. The project's estimated 16-year mine life and expected annual production of over 300,000 ounces in the first eight years underscore its significance in the gold mining sector. The advancements align with Montage Gold's strategic goals of expanding its resource base and improving project economics, which could lead to increased profitability and market competitiveness.
What's Next?
Montage Gold plans to continue its exploration efforts, focusing on infill and step-out drilling to further delineate resources. The company aims to provide additional resource updates throughout the year, which could influence investment decisions and project development strategies. As construction progresses on schedule, the successful execution of the drilling program and subsequent resource updates will be critical in achieving the company's production targets and enhancing shareholder value.
