Beta Technologies has introduced the MV250, a new military-focused variant of its A250 vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, at the 2026 Farnborough Air Show. The MV250 features a hybrid-electric propulsion system and autonomous flight capabilities,
distinguishing it from the fully electric A250. The design eliminates the cockpit and passenger compartment, offering a repositioning range of 1,300 nautical miles and a tactical range of 250 nautical miles with a payload capacity of 907 kilograms. The MV250 is developed in collaboration with GE Aerospace and Sikorsky, utilizing a turbogenerator engine based on GE's T700 turboshaft. This hybrid approach aims to meet the specific tactical needs of military operators, providing increased range and ground-based power production.
