What's Happening?
Maesa, a company known for incubating and growing innovative beauty brands, has announced the launch of its fourth cohort for the Maesa Magic Incubator. This program is designed to support emerging beauty and wellness entrepreneurs from underrepresented
communities, including women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, differently abled individuals, seniors, and those from low-income backgrounds. The incubator provides selected entrepreneurs with $35,000 in no-strings-attached funding, mentorship, networking opportunities, and tailored learning tracks. Since its inception, the program has awarded $315,000 in funding to nine entrepreneurs. Notable alumni include Aziza El Wanni of The Potion Studio and Nikita Charuza of Squigs Beauty. Applications for the new cohort are now open.
Why It's Important?
The Maesa Magic Incubator plays a crucial role in promoting diversity and inclusion within the beauty industry by providing resources and opportunities to entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. By offering financial support and mentorship, the program helps level the playing field for these entrepreneurs, who often face significant barriers to entry in the industry. This initiative not only fosters innovation and creativity but also contributes to a more diverse and representative beauty market. The success of past participants highlights the potential impact of such programs on the industry and society at large.
What's Next?
With applications now open for the fourth cohort, Maesa is set to continue its support for diverse entrepreneurs. The selected participants will join a small, intentional cohort and receive comprehensive support to accelerate their business growth. As the program progresses, it is expected to further enhance the visibility and success of underrepresented founders in the beauty industry. The ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion by Maesa may inspire other companies to adopt similar initiatives, potentially leading to broader industry changes.
