What's Happening?
The National Content & Technology Cooperative (NCTC) has established an AI Center of Excellence (CoE) to assist small and midsized operators in leveraging artificial intelligence. This initiative aims to provide AI expertise, best practices, and a subscription-based
AI platform to over 700 operators serving more than 40 million customers. The CoE was developed in response to the growing strategic importance of AI among NCTC members. The platform, built on Microsoft Azure, will offer turnkey applications and protect operator-specific data through individual containers.
Why It's Important?
The establishment of the AI CoE represents a significant step in democratizing access to advanced AI technologies for smaller operators who may lack the resources to develop such capabilities independently. By providing a shared infrastructure, the NCTC enables these operators to enhance their service offerings, improve customer service, and reduce operational costs. This initiative could lead to increased competitiveness and innovation within the telecommunications industry, benefiting consumers through improved services and potentially lower prices.
