DroneXL has launched a new Drone Delivery Tracker, a public record detailing drone delivery operations in the U.S. for companies like Amazon Prime Air, Wing, and Zipline. The tracker maps 40 Amazon hubs based on FAA decisions, along with Wing's authorized
metros and nests, and Zipline's FAA actions. It also records eight incidents, including six involving Amazon drones. These Amazon incidents range from crashes in Pendleton and strikes on a construction crane in Tolleson, Arizona, to a package being released into a Richmond swimming pool. The tracker provides specific details on each operator's aircraft, including weight, payload, delivery method, and noise levels, drawing information from FAA filings. Amazon's MK30 drone, for instance, is an 83.2-pound aircraft designed to carry five pounds, dropping packages from about 13 feet, and notably lacks a parachute.
