What's Happening?
ServiceNow is actively seeking a Senior Manager, Influencer Marketing & Amplification Lead, to spearhead its global influencer program. The role aims to elevate ServiceNow's brand awareness, credibility,
and relevance, particularly within the B2B AI space, which is currently characterized by generic thought leadership. The new lead will be responsible for developing and executing a global influencer strategy rooted in authentic, long-term creator relationships and audience engagement. This involves creating a 'center of excellence' for influencer activations across the company, supporting cross-functional teams, and identifying creative opportunities for social-first content and guerrilla marketing. The objective is to differentiate ServiceNow by building an influencer program that is as creative and culturally relevant as consumer brands, focusing on driving real business outcomes beyond vanity metrics.
Why It's Important?
This strategic hire by ServiceNow underscores the increasing importance of influencer marketing even in the B2B technology sector, particularly in the crowded AI landscape. By investing in a dedicated global lead, ServiceNow aims to move beyond conventional B2B marketing tactics and leverage the power of authentic creator voices to reach enterprise buyers. This initiative is crucial for enhancing brand perception, fostering trust, and driving product adoption in a competitive market. A well-executed influencer program can humanize complex B2B solutions, making them more relatable and engaging to target audiences. Furthermore, by establishing a global framework and enabling regional execution, ServiceNow seeks to ensure consistency in its brand messaging while allowing for culturally relevant local activations, which is vital for a multinational technology company.
What's Next?
The successful candidate will be tasked with defining 'best-in-class' influencer marketing for ServiceNow, building a comprehensive playbook that can be replicated and scaled globally. This will involve developing a portfolio of creator partnerships that ensure ongoing visibility and support product launches and strategic initiatives. The role will also focus on testing new approaches and identifying what truly drives business outcomes, moving beyond superficial engagement metrics. Expect to see ServiceNow's influencer content become more innovative and platform-native, potentially incorporating diverse formats across various social media channels. The company will likely invest in tools and insights to empower regional marketing teams to execute localized influencer programs effectively, fostering a cohesive yet adaptable global strategy.
Beyond the Headlines
ServiceNow's move into sophisticated influencer marketing reflects a broader trend of B2B companies adopting strategies traditionally associated with consumer brands. This signifies a recognition that even enterprise buyers are influenced by authentic voices and engaging content, challenging the long-held perception that B2B marketing must be purely rational and formal. The initiative also highlights the growing influence of the 'creator economy' across all sectors, demonstrating its potential to disrupt traditional marketing paradigms. Ethically, this shift will require careful consideration of transparency in B2B influencer collaborations, ensuring that endorsements are clearly disclosed. Legally, contracts with B2B influencers may become more complex, addressing intellectual property, data privacy, and compliance in a corporate context. Culturally, it could lead to a more dynamic and creative approach to B2B communication, making technology solutions more accessible and relatable to a wider audience.
