A new benchmark study, 'State of Wealth Management AI Adoption,' by Cerulli Associates in partnership with Vista Equity Partners, indicates that artificial intelligence (AI) in wealth management is primarily
being used to enhance advisor productivity and expand service capacity, rather than to reduce staffing levels. The research suggests that concerns about widespread job displacement for advisors due to AI are largely unfounded. Most firms anticipate AI will increase their ability to serve clients while maintaining the importance of human advice. Over the next two years, registered investment advisors (RIAs) are expected to hire more junior advisors (73%), client service associates (67%), and senior advisors (56%). This trend highlights the continued value of human interaction as firms leverage AI to support growth and serve a larger client base. The study also found that nearly two-thirds (64%) of firms report AI has reduced manual and administrative tasks, and 46% have seen improved quality in client communication.
