What's Happening?
Aspen Oothoudt, a 22-year-old from Arizona, shares her emotional journey after learning her unborn son, Jettson, would be born without eyes due to a rare condition called Anophthalmia. During a 20-week anatomy scan, doctors discovered the absence of eye development,
prompting further tests. Despite the option to terminate the pregnancy, Oothoudt and her partner, Skyler Williams, chose to continue, driven by their son's apparent cognitive responses. Jettson was born healthy, and the family is now focused on providing him with a fulfilling life. Oothoudt hopes her story offers comfort to others facing similar challenges.
Why It's Important?
