($195 million) in revenues by 2032. Culta develops proprietary fruit varieties, which are grown by 36 contract growers under license with agronomic support. The company then buys back 100% of the crop and sells the branded fruit in Japan and Southeast Asia. Culta utilizes AI and machine learning to analyze genomic and phenotypic data, accelerating breeding without gene editing or genetic modification. This data-driven approach, combined with rapid breeding cycles in controlled indoor environments, allows Culta to develop new strawberry varieties in two years, significantly faster than the typical 10 years for conventional outdoor methods. Their debut strawberry variety, SAKURA DROPS, can withstand hotter spring weather, extends the shipping season, and boasts higher yields, sugar content, and firmness compared to leading Japanese cultivars.
