What's Happening?
ICD Co., Ltd., a South Korean display equipment manufacturer, has announced a significant contract with Chengdu BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd. The deal, valued at 29.57 billion won, involves the supply of display manufacturing equipment, specifically
a plasma processing system, to be installed at BOE's Gen 8.6 OLED production line in Chengdu. This facility is designed to produce OLED panels for IT products such as notebook PCs and tablets. The contract represents 15.01% of ICD's 2025 consolidated revenue and is set to run from July 3, 2026, through June 20, 2027.
Why It's Important?
This contract is a substantial win for ICD, highlighting its role in the competitive display equipment market. The use of plasma processing systems is critical in OLED manufacturing, as it ensures the quality and performance of the panels by optimizing surface conditions for organic material deposition. This deal not only strengthens ICD's financial position but also reinforces its relationship with BOE, one of the largest display manufacturers globally. The successful execution of this contract could lead to further opportunities for ICD in the expanding OLED market.
What's Next?
With the contract in place, ICD will focus on delivering the plasma processing systems to BOE's production line. This will involve coordinating with BOE to ensure seamless integration and operation of the equipment. As the demand for OLED panels continues to grow, ICD may seek to expand its production capabilities and explore additional partnerships with other display manufacturers. The successful implementation of this contract could also position ICD as a preferred supplier for future projects, potentially leading to increased market share and revenue growth.
