What's Happening?
Australian Gold and Copper (ASX:AGC) has received a $987,000 research and development refund from the Australian Taxation Office. This refund pertains to experimental activities conducted during the 2025
financial year to refine geological models at the Achilles Project in New South Wales. Additionally, AGC has completed the second tranche of a $5 million placement, receiving $2.55 million from its largest shareholder, GeoZen Resources. The company has also finalized the acquisition of New South Resources, which holds the Junee Gold Project. This project, located 230km south of AGC's South Cobar Basin projects, offers seven drill-ready targets in an established gold district.
Why It's Important?
The R&D refund and successful capital raising are crucial for AGC as they provide a significant financial boost without diluting shareholder value. This funding will help lower the effective cost of advancing AGC's projects and building resources. The acquisition of the Junee Gold Project expands AGC's portfolio, offering new opportunities for exploration and development in a promising gold district. The support from GeoZen Resources underscores the strength of AGC's strategic partnerships, which are vital in a tight capital market.
What's Next?
AGC plans to commence a maiden drill campaign at the Junee Gold Project this quarter. The company is focused on building a precious and base metals business across its 2,600km² landholding in the South Cobar Basin, New South Wales. The successful integration of the Junee project and the continued support from shareholders and partners will be key to AGC's growth strategy.
