Skanska USA Building, a prominent construction and development firm, recently celebrated the grand opening of Asha and Farid Virani Hall at Rice University in Houston, Texas. This new facility will house the Jones Graduate School of Business and the Virani Undergraduate
School of Business. The project involved a 112,000-square-foot addition and renovations to existing facilities, significantly expanding and modernizing Rice Business. The new hall features state-of-the-art classrooms, modern office spaces, dining areas, open gathering spaces, and facilities for private events. Designed to complement the existing McNair Hall, the addition connects on all three floors through a transitional lobby, creating a seamless experience while establishing its own distinct architectural identity. Skanska partnered with B. Bell Builders, a local general contractor, and Architecture Research Office (ARO) led the building's design, with Kirksey Architecture serving as the executive architect.
