His background in both coaching and collegiate athletics is expected to provide immediate benefits in fundraising, donor relations, and overall revenue generation for the department. For the women's soccer team, the departure of a long-serving and successful coach will necessitate a new leadership direction, potentially impacting team dynamics, recruitment, and on-field performance as they seek to maintain or build upon Gomez's legacy.
