What's Happening?
The Hilo Community Players have successfully concluded their ten-week summer program, KidShakes, which is designed to introduce young performers to the works of William Shakespeare. This year, the program culminated
in a youth-friendly adaptation of 'The Comedy of Errors,' performed as part of the 4th Annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival. The event featured young actors aged 10 to 15, who shared their experiences and insights during a student takeover segment with Sharene Taba. The program aims to provide a platform for young talent to explore theater, learn about Shakespearean plays, and develop their acting skills. The performances are scheduled to continue on July 25 and 26 at the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center Lawn, with free attendance for the public.
