Désirée Ohrbeck, a Danish author residing in the Pacific Northwest, has launched her new historical novel, "The Scandinavian War Bride." The book is the first in a trilogy and is based on over 150 letters her Danish grandmother wrote to her mother after
moving to the USA as a war bride. Ohrbeck, who holds an MA in Nordic Philology and History and previously taught Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington, drew inspiration from these letters to craft a story about perseverance, hope, determination, heartache, loss, and broken dreams.
