What's Happening?
El Pulté Golf in Guatemala has been selected to host the 2026 Women’s Amateur Latin America (WALA) championship, presented by The R&A and the ANNIKA Foundation. This marks the first time Guatemala will host the championship, which is scheduled to take
place from November 19-22. The event will feature top women's amateur golfers from across the region. The winner of the championship will receive exemptions into three major tournaments in 2027: the AIG Women’s Open at Royal St George’s, The Chevron Championship at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas, and The Amundi Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club. Additionally, the winner will gain entry into The Women’s Amateur Championship, The Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational presented by Rolex, and the South American Amateur Championship the following year. Colombia’s María José Marín, who won last year's WALA and subsequently the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, is expected to defend her title.
