Amazon India has collaborated with water-tech startup FluxGen to deploy an integrated water-management system at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) campus in Pune. This initiative aims to conserve and replenish an estimated 178 million liters of water annually
once completed by the end of 2026. The system incorporates smart sensors for continuous water consumption monitoring and leak detection, water-efficient fixtures like aerators and waterless urinals to reduce freshwater use, and wastewater capture, treatment, and reuse. Additionally, rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge systems will be implemented to replenish local water resources. Amazon views this project as a potential model for replication across other large campuses, including offices, hospitals, schools, and housing complexes.
