Anthropic has launched Claude Science, an AI workbench designed to streamline computational research for scientists by integrating various databases, pipelines, and tools into a single environment. This new platform is not a new AI model but utilizes
existing Claude models, including Claude Opus 4.8, to enhance life sciences tasks. The workbench acts as a project manager, connecting to over 60 scientific databases and offering prebuilt toolkits for fields such as genomics and chemistry. It also includes a fact-checker AI to verify citations and calculations, addressing issues of fabricated citations in AI-assisted writing.
