Rosemary Thurber, the only child of renowned cartoonist and author James Thurber, has died at the age of 94. She passed away on June 8 in Michigan. Throughout her life, Rosemary was deeply involved in preserving her father's literary legacy, working with
publishers and literary organizations. She was a key supporter of the Thurber House, a literary center in Columbus, Ohio, dedicated to celebrating the written word. Despite never living in Columbus, she maintained strong ties to the city through her work with the Thurber House. Rosemary was also active in supporting the arts, peace, and social justice, serving on the vestry of her church and as a board president at the South Haven Center for the Arts.
