The Montana Arts Council has announced the recipients of the 2026 Governor’s Arts Awards, recognizing six individuals for their contributions to the arts in Montana. The awardees include Jeff Ament, Clyde Aspevig, David Fjeld, Sarah Jaeger, Carrie Krause,
and Diane Scalese, who have excelled in various artistic fields such as music, painting, stained glass, ceramics, violin, and engraving. Governor Greg Gianforte praised the awardees for their ability to capture Montana's natural beauty and cultural vibrancy. The awards, presented biennially, celebrate artistic excellence and dedication to the cultural community in Montana. The recipients will be honored at a ceremony at the State Capitol in Helena on December 3.
