The Maryland Jockey Club has finalized a six-year media rights agreement with NBC Sports, ensuring that the Preakness Stakes and Black-Eyed Susan Stakes will receive expanded national exposure starting in 2027. This deal aligns the Preakness with NBC's
coverage of the Kentucky Derby, providing a unified broadcast platform for two of horse racing's Triple Crown events. The agreement includes moving the Preakness to a Sunday, one week later than its traditional date, to enhance participation and viewership. The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes will also shift to Saturday, creating a four-day racing festival over Memorial Day weekend.
