Lance Given, a 64-year-old resident of Sedgwick County, Kansas, has been sentenced to 12 months of probation for committing insurance fraud. Given pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of fraudulent insurance acts, having provided false information
about the location and circumstances of an accident to secure coverage for vehicle damages not covered by his policy. The Kansas Department of Insurance conducted the investigation, and the Kansas Attorney General’s Office prosecuted the case. Given was also fined $500 for each count and faces 30 days of prison time if he violates probation.
