Netflix ANZ, in collaboration with the Australian Writers' Guild and various state and territory screen agencies, has launched 'The Next Brilliant Career' initiative. This program aims to identify and support emerging Australian writers who identify as women
or non-binary. Participants are invited to submit original, authentically Australian scripted concepts. The initiative is designed to provide these writers with feedback from Netflix, helping them develop their stories for the screen. Applications are open from August 4 to August 18, 2026, and the program will culminate in a pitch day at Netflix ANZ headquarters in Sydney.
