Iberdrola has awarded contracts totaling nearly €30 million to Ingeteam and Ormazabal to enhance electricity grids and expand energy storage capacity. Ingeteam received €25 million for battery energy storage systems (BESS) to be integrated into renewable
energy projects in Spain. These systems are designed to manage available energy more effectively and provide flexibility as generation and demand fluctuate. Ormazabal secured a contract worth almost €5 million for the design, manufacturing, and supply of two mobile substations. These mobile units will serve as temporary support during maintenance, infrastructure incidents, or periods of exceptional demand, ensuring continuity of electricity supply. The contracts were discussed during a meeting of Iberdrola’s Board of Directors’ Executive Committee in Bilbao, emphasizing the company's commitment to modernizing its electricity infrastructure and supporting the energy transition.
