What's Happening?
Montgomery County is encouraging children to participate in its annual Child Support Coloring Contest. The event invites children to use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to create their entries. Participants have the opportunity to win a backpack
filled with school supplies and receive special recognition from the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners. The contest is open to children in two age groups: 1-5 years and 6-10 years. Entries must be submitted by August 31, either by email in PDF format or by mail to the Montgomery County Child Support office. The initiative aims to engage young residents in a creative activity while providing them with essential school supplies.
Why It's Important?
The coloring contest serves as a community engagement tool, fostering creativity among young residents while also addressing educational needs by providing school supplies. This initiative highlights the county's commitment to supporting families and children, particularly as they prepare for the upcoming school year. By involving children in such activities, the county not only promotes artistic expression but also strengthens community ties and supports educational readiness. The contest also provides an opportunity for the county to recognize and celebrate the talents of its young residents, reinforcing a sense of belonging and community pride.
