The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has launched the Commercial Direct Install (CDI) Program, offering free, utility-funded energy efficiency equipment upgrades to eligible small and medium-sized businesses within its service area. Businesses
with an average monthly electrical demand of 250 kilowatts (kW) or less can receive upgrades such as LED lighting, LED exit signs, refrigeration enhancements, and heat pump water heaters. The program aims to help businesses reduce energy consumption and operating costs without any upfront expense. LADWP has partnered with Willdan Inc. to provide these services, which include a no-cost on-site assessment, customized upgrade recommendations, and professional installation. The initiative also extends to multifamily property owners with five or more units for common area lighting upgrades. The goal is to improve energy efficiency and lower utility bills for participating businesses.
