What's Happening?
Praxis Reciprocal Exchange, a Tampa-based insurance company, has appointed Ross Bowie as its new chief executive officer. Bowie brings extensive experience from his previous roles, including his tenure as president and CEO of Private Client Select Insurance
Services, a joint venture between AIG and Stone Point Capital. Praxis, which was approved to operate in Florida in September 2025, has been actively expanding its policy base, recently acquiring up to 5,000 policies from Citizens Property Insurance Corp. As CEO, Bowie will oversee underwriting, distribution, and strategic growth, working closely with President and CFO Jennifer Gravelle. The company has shown promising early results, with direct written premiums exceeding $71 million in the first quarter of the year.
Why It's Important?
The appointment of Ross Bowie as CEO is significant for Praxis Reciprocal Exchange as it seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive Florida insurance market. With his background in managing high-net-worth insurance services, Bowie is expected to enhance Praxis's strategic initiatives and operational efficiency. The company's recent policy acquisitions from Citizens Property Insurance Corp. indicate a strategic move to capture a larger market share. This development could impact the broader insurance landscape in Florida, potentially influencing policy pricing and availability. Stakeholders, including policyholders and competitors, will be closely monitoring Praxis's growth trajectory under Bowie's leadership.
