Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom has updated its Early Entry procedures, moving the guest holding areas and eligibility checkpoints deeper into the park. Previously, Early Entry guests would verify their eligibility near the park entrance and then proceed
to specific holding areas before attractions opened. Under the new system, both Early Entry resort guests and regular day guests can now enter the park and proceed down either path of the Oasis, with holding areas now located on Discovery Island. There are two main Early Entry checkpoints on Discovery Island: one leading to Pandora – World of Avatar and Africa, and another in front of Zootopia: Better Zoogether, leading to Asia and Expedition Everest. This change allows off-site guests more space to wait and explore Discovery Island before the official park opening, rather than being confined to the Oasis area. However, nothing on Discovery Island is open until the official park opening, including gift shops. Early Entry guests still have their eligibility checked at these new checkpoints before being allowed to proceed to attractions.
