Energy Fuels has initiated construction to expand its White Mesa Mill in Utah, aiming to produce heavy rare-earth oxides for magnets and other critical applications. The expansion will enable the production of terbium, dysprosium, samarium, and europium,
with completion expected by the end of 2028. The project, with a capital expenditure of approximately $104 million, will be funded through U.S. government loans and grants, supplemented by the company's working capital. This move follows Energy Fuels' earlier announcement of a conditional commitment for up to $725 million in U.S. government financing for critical-minerals processing.
