What's Happening?
Heart Aerospace has received clearance from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct the maiden flight of its HX-1 all-electric aircraft. The HX-1, measuring 23 meters in length with a wingspan of 32 meters, is set to be the largest electric aircraft ever
flown. The FAA's approval follows extensive inspections and ground testing at Heart's flight-test base in Plattsburgh, New York. The HX-1 is a full-scale demonstrator for Heart's hybrid-electric production aircraft, the ES-30, and aims to validate flight characteristics and demonstrate key technologies. The company plans to follow the HX-1 with the HX-2, which will feature a hybrid-electric powertrain.
