First-year forward Matthew Portz netted his first USHL goal early in the second period. Captain Matteo Alvarez scored his first goal of the season, extending the lead to 3-0 by the end of the second period. Although the NTDP U18s scored in the third period, Matthew Portz quickly responded with his second goal of the day, solidifying the Stampede's lead. Goalie Ryan Cameron made 25 saves out of 26 shots in his first start for Sioux Falls.
