Avangrid, Inc., a prominent energy company and part of the Iberdrola Group, has commenced the installation of solar panels at the Oregon Trail Solar project in Gilliam County, Oregon. This project, with a capacity of 57 MWdc (41 MWac), marks a significant
advancement in the region's energy infrastructure. The installation is expected to support 200 local union jobs, contributing to the local economy. Avangrid's CEO, Jose Antonio Miranda, highlighted the project's role in job creation and community support, as well as its contribution to meeting the increasing electricity demand in the area. Once completed, the project will feature over 100,000 solar panels, generating enough electricity to power approximately 10,000 U.S. homes annually.
