Defense technology startup Skapion has announced the successful raising of $36 million in seed funding to advance the development of a counter-swarm defense system. This system is designed to detect and neutralize large-scale drone attacks, addressing
a significant gap in modern air defense. Traditional air-defense systems are often ill-equipped to handle the simultaneous threat posed by numerous inexpensive drones, which have become a hallmark of contemporary warfare. The funding round was co-led by UP Partners and Khosla Ventures, with additional support from Fusion VC, Stratos Ventures, TBD VC, and q Fund. Skapion plans to use the investment to expand its engineering team, validate its systems, and enhance engagement with government and defense clients in the U.S., Israel, and allied nations.
