Lam Research Corp. has commenced construction on a new, state-of-the-art Oregon lab in Tualatin, as part of a planned investment exceeding $3 billion in its global lab network over the next five years. This initiative aims to accelerate breakthroughs
in advanced AI chips. The new 120,000-square-foot facility, located in the Silicon Forest, is expected to increase cleanroom lab space at the Lam Tualatin R&D center by over 50%. The groundbreaking event was attended by key figures including Lam Research President and CEO Tim Archer, Executive Vice President and COO Sesha Varadarajan, U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley, U.S. Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read, and senior leaders from Intel Corporation and Micron Technology. The facility is designed to enhance specialized capabilities for advanced deposition and etch process development, materials science, and hardware validation, fostering closer collaboration with customers.
