Matador is set to release Alice Coltrane's ashram tapes, which include 'Turiya Sings', 'Divine Songs', 'Infinite Chants', and 'Glorious Chants'. These tapes were recorded in the 1980s and 1990s at Coltrane's ashram near Los Angeles and have been largely
unavailable to the public until now. The tapes, which blend jazz, new age, gospel, and electronic music, will be released in full for the first time, complete with original mixes and artwork. This release follows previous partial releases and altered versions of Coltrane's work, such as the 2017 compilation 'The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda'.
