What's Happening?
Kenny Atkinson, the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, is set to participate in the inaugural Men’s Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Next Up camp in Istanbul, Turkey. This event, organized by the National Basketball Association (NBA), the International
Basketball Federation (FIBA), and the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), will host 78 top high-school-age international prospects from 44 countries. Atkinson will be among current and former NBA and FIBA players and coaches guiding these young athletes through various activities, including athletic testing, skill development, 3-on-3 competitions, life skills seminars, and 5-on-5 games. The camp, running from August 26 to August 29, marks the debut of a new BWB program format and the third time Istanbul has hosted a BWB event. This initiative coincides with the 25th anniversary of Basketball Without Borders, a global basketball development and community outreach program.
