U.S. nutrition startup Berry Street has merged with the Indian startup Healthify, backed by Khosla Ventures, to leverage the growing trend of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss. The financial details of the merger were not disclosed. The combined entity will
operate under the Berry Street brand in the U.S. and Healthify in other markets, including India. Noah Kotlove, founder of Berry Street, and Tushar Vashisht, founder of Healthify, will serve as co-CEOs. Healthify, which has raised over $150 million, offers AI-powered and human fitness and nutritional coaching and has served more than 45 million customers. Berry Street, which raised $50 million last year, has a network of over 2,000 clinics and provides insurance-covered GLP-1 care, along with AI-powered nutrition coaching and meal tracking, having served over 200,000 people in collaboration with Amazon and Walmart. A JP Morgan report projects that over 30 million people in the U.S. will be using GLP-1 drugs by 2030.
